Data Integration

involves combining data residing in different sources and providing users with a unified view of these data.This process becomes significant in a variety of situations. The importance and the role of having good and reliable data becomes business critical.

Data integration appears with increasing frequency as the volume and the need to share existing data explodes. In management circles, people frequently refer to data integration as “Enterprise Information Integration”


The choice for the right integration depends on your current architecture. We could use cloud, on-premise or hybrid solution. In most case we prefer Scribe Software due to the fact we do not need coding and can implement a ‘loosely coupled’ integration based in Microsoft proven technology of MSMQ and XML.

In computing and systems design a loosely coupled system is one in which each of its components has, or makes use of, little or no knowledge of the definitions of other separate components. The notion was introduced into organizational studies by Karl Weick. Sub-areas include the coupling of classes, interfaces, data, and services.

Our Approaches

The approach of data integration is similar to our project approaches. We use the following phases:

  1. Analyse:
    In the analyze phase we assess all data sources, data flows and data owners
  2. Design
    In the design phase we define planning, data integration approach (e.g. one-way, two-way or loosely coupled) ,triggers, data publishers, data (re)modelling (optional) and data mappings
  3. Build
    In this phase we starting to build integration, coding and define data integration template(e.g. xml), data publishers and data mappings files/
  4. Test
    The testing is very crucial to data integration. We use it to check data mapping, check if all required data has been integrated, the triggers work and all business requirements are implemented.
  5. Rework
    In the rework phase we make the final adjustment after the test of integration has been tested by the customer
  6. Production Run
    In this phase we deploy the integration to production
  7. After Care
    In this phase we make correction if needed and optimize the integration.
